Cure MKD is a proud project of Rare Village Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are currently in the process of obtaining our independent 501(c)(3) status; in the meantime, all donations made through our fiscal sponsor, Rare Village, are 100% tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Where Your Donation Goes
Developing a treatment for an ultra-rare disease is a multi-million-dollar journey. Reaching our initial fundraising milestones is what allows us to safely complete Phase 1 and aggressively launch our global testing pipeline. Your donation directly funds our dual-track strategy:
Track 01
Diversified Therapeutics & Disease Biology
To maximize our chances of a breakthrough, we do not put all our eggs in one basket. We are actively exploring and funding core research to deeper understand basic Disease Biology, alongside Proof-of-Concept research into Gene Therapy, CRISPR Gene Editing, and Small Molecule Therapeutics.
Track 02
Clinical Infrastructure
Advanced Diagnostics
To end the agonizing 5–10 year diagnosis delay for families.
Global Biobank
Supplying the actual physical samples labs need to test therapies on MKD cells.
Patient Registry
An international database to safely locate and connect MKD families for trials.
Natural History Study
Acting as our "virtual placebo" so no sick child ever receives a fake pill during a live trial.

Fundraise
Think of something you enjoy doing and find a way to add a fundraising component to that activity. Ideas can include:
- Company Matching Gift Program or Employee Giving Campaign
