Support Groups

Three moderated communities where MKD families, patients, and advocates connect, share, and learn from one another.

HIDS and MA: Education & Support

Jennifer Tousseau (HIDS Mom) and Board Member of the Autoinflammatory Alliance.

This group is a support and education group for those who have a Mevalonate Kinase Deficiency (Hyper-IgD Syndrome (HIDS) or Mevalonate Aciduria (MA), or for those who are suspected of having an MKD. HIDS and MA are rare autoinflammatory diseases, aka periodic fever syndromes.

MKD (Hyper IgD Syndrome / Mevalonic Aciduria)

LED BY:

Rachel Rimmer (MKD Patient, Patient Advocate, and Founder of RACC-UK).

Moderated by Rachel Rimmer, this group is dedicated to those living with Mevalonate Kinase Deficiency. It serves as a focused space for patients and caregivers to share their lived experiences, navigate UK-specific and global challenges, and support one another through the MKD journey.

Autoinflammatory Diseases Group

LED BY:

Karen Durrant RN, BSN (President and Founder of the Autoinflammatory Alliance).

This group is moderated by the Autoinflammatory Alliance and covers the broader spectrum of autoinflammatory conditions. It is a vital resource for staying updated on research, clinical trials, and global advocacy efforts for the wider fever syndrome community.
