The beginning

The Immediate Battle

Gabriela never saw a nursery. At just seven days old, she was rushed to a specialized facility in a high-stakes race for a diagnosis. Her body was in a state of “total alarm,” with inflammatory markers (CRP) over a hundred times higher than normal. Her immune system wasn’t protecting her; it was attacking her organs from the inside out.

Over Three Months on the Edge

Gabriela spent 96 days fighting for stability. The systemic inflammation was so violent it targeted her liver and digestive tract; she suffered from rectal bleeding and had to be fed entirely through her veins. Doctors performed invasive mapping to understand the source of her liver failure while she survived three blood transfusions, sepsis , and a “nuclear” immune meltdown called MAS. She beat the odds to make it home, but survival was just the beginning.

The Reality of Today: Life on High Alert

While Gabriela reaches new milestones, our life remains a high-wire act. For most, a cold is routine; for Gabriela, it is a significant medical threat. Because her body lacks internal regulators, a simple virus can trigger an uncontrolled flare. We live in constant vigilance, knowing she is always one infection away from the next storm.

She deserves a future where a cold is just a cold—not an emergency room visit.
